Development
We are award winning developers with a difference. We generally retain ownership of at an element of our projects and we understand that by doing the job properly our buildings will serve the community as intended. We put quality and design at the top of our priority list working with the best local architects and contractors to deliver fantastic results.

Coming soon – Halls of Ripon
We are currently engaged in a modernisation of this key listed building which is home to many established and budding Ripon businesses. We have permission for two apartments split over the upper two floors.

Redevelopment of 74 North Street
The former Abbots furniture store was identified as the location to realise Martin Sterne’s long term desire to bring a cinema back to Ripon. We carried out a complex restoration and conversion of this once dilapidated building to form a state of the art two screen cinema and nine apartments.

Expansion of Caffe Nero
We acquired the freehold of 17 Market Place North which comprised Caffe Nero and the former Leeds Building Society. We agreed a new 10 year lease with Caffe Nero for the entire ground floor and created a separate access to the upper floors which we are proposing to convert to luxury apartments.

18 Fishergate
When Specsavers vacated this property to relocate to larger premises we agreed a new lease of the ground floor with Martin House and developed a large apartment on the upper two floors which includes a secluded roof terrace. This apartment is currently operated as a holiday let.

The Terrace
This landmark building has had many incarnations as various pubs and restaurants which unfortunately became unviable. It has however converted into four fabulous apartments all with outside terraces.

The Claro Lounge
The purpose built Natwest bank stood on the site of the former Claro Bank since the 1960 and was generally regarded as a blot on our beautiful market square. We presented our proposal to the brilliant Loungers plc who were the perfect occupant of the ground and lower ground floors with a garden to the rear. The upper floors have produced four fantastic apartments including the Penthouse (link). Our remodelling and conversion of this property has won the Civic Society’s Taylor Plate for city centre revitalisation.

46 Market Place Knaresborough
In our most challenging development to date the former Robinsons Butchers dates back to Tudor times and has retained the original oak frame. We discovered catastrophic structural defects which required a complete rebuild of the Kirkgate elevation. It is well worth visiting Appleton’s Butchers’ Knaresborough shop to see a piece of history brought into the 21st century.
